Why Stay at Duba Plains Camp
As you approach by plane, the endless plains below are dotted with picturesque date palms, and there is a spirit about Duba Plains that becomes tangible. The verdant green, huge herds of buffalo and elephant, white spots of cattle egret, all come together to create a collage that is uniquely Botswana’s Okavango Delta. The camp itself is steeped in history and stories, typified by the Jouberts’ Relentless Enemies documentary and the many articles penned on the reserve’s lion dynamics.
Duba Plains Camp is a mere 7-minute drive from the airfield, often threading ones way through a herd of giraffe and the piercing calls of Meyer’s parrot. Built along the edge of the forest, under deep shade with views across the surrounding floodplains, this humble outpost is a place to relax and yet still be 'on safari'.
With just 12 guests in six canvas tents, the camp retains the charm of an authentic safari camp. Duba Plains is the type of place where guests stay a full week and even return each year.
